At the heart of our faith is this truth: the church is not a building. The church is the living, breathing body of Christ in the world. When we reduce church to a place we attend, we miss the point. Worship isn’t a performance or a Sunday-only event. It’s the celebration of God’s mighty acts that empower us to live our faith beyond the walls…The body of Christ is made up of many members, each gifted and called. Together we form one body. That means the church is not about consuming religious goods or attending weekly events—it’s about contributing to God’s mission of making disciples for the transformation of the world. Being the church means: 1) Living with a mission and purpose that flows from Jesus. 2) Remembering we’re connected to the saints before us and the generations yet to come. 3)Gathering in worship, not as spectators, but as participants in God’s ongoing work. 4) Serving others, inside and outside the church walls, with compassion and love. You don’t “attend” the church. You are the church. Wherever you go, you carry Christ’s presence with you.
Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. [1 Corinthians 12:27]
